A good hint would be to keep it significantly higher, or lower, than the average eye level. A fake smoke alarm could do, or you could put it under furniture. However, if they find it rather quickly, you might want to pick a better spot. On one hand, they often do require a lot of light in the room if you want a clear picture. Your camera should face away from a major light source, and whatever it is recording should be well lit.
You could make sure that the camera itself is as small and discrete as possible, or you could disguise it as an everyday object. This is especially important for motion-activated or sound-activated cameras.
Last but not least, as with any electronic device, it might break at some point. However, there are some commonalities between different models and the smaller square-shaped camera has taken off as the most popular and has similar instructions through models. We have compiled a list here of the different mini cameras and their instructions so you can either find your model or find a model similar to your camera and follow the instructions in the case that you have lost your own instructions.

Remove camera, power down camera, power up camera, record. I have just recieved one of these as well. I put the cd in and i get a runtime error. Tried my wifes laptop and i get the same error. Have just recieved camera and worked out date time setting etc, does anyone know how to turn it off completly? Help appreciated. I have searched the net and found the 'web cam' drivers and they work fine but i cannot find the 'time synchronization file' software anywhere. Could someone upload this file and give me a link to it or let me know they have it and i could give them my email address. TXT place in root of device, this file will dissapear when the device is restarted, to alter time date just change your saved file thats on your computer and copy it over to the device again.
Below is text that should be in file. I've had a one for a while , remarkable little cameras they are. If you follow the instructions above the device will change the time automatically. Mine came with a CD [a mini one ]containing drivers , but I haven't installed any. I just copy the files off the card to a folder and use VLC to play them. Robbie M Standard Member.
